bit about us
after World War II, Concrete Machinery Company was established
in Hickory, North Carolina. For nearly 60 years, the founding
family (named Flowers) operated the enterprise, steadily increasing
the mold base, innovating great designs, refining the process
of making ornamental concrete items...and generally gaining
the reputation as the best source for the best ALUMINUM molds
available anywhere. In fact, even today used Concrete Machinery
Molds are highly sought after today because of their quality
and the fact that they are TOUGH. They tolerate the rigors
of daily use. When other molds break or lose their detail,
CMC molds keep working.
If you're old enough, you may remember magazine ads like
the one that appears at right (this one is circa 1988). It
invited readers to find out more about pouring concrete statuary
either for business or hobby. Thousands of people ordered
the catalog via mail...note that phoning for information wasn't
an option, and the Internet had not even been born!
Alas, as it sometimes goes with family businesses, there
came a time when there was no interest for the next generation
to continue the enterprise. For a time, it looked as though
the company would cease to exist; in fact, for a few years,
that's what happened.
Then in 2007, Ronald Johnson, the owner of Southern Standard
Molds (a maker of fiberglass concrete molds), was able to
purchase all of the designs and the rights to manufacture
CMC molds once again. Concrete Machinery Company has now relocated
to Neosho, Missouri where, like the mythological Phoenix Bird,
CMC Molds have emerged from the ashes. Perhaps best of all,
CMC remains a family owned and family run business that values
customer service and enduring relationships.
So, what's different about CMC today? Not much, really. We
make available the same high-quality products for which our
company has always been known. The traditional catalog and
instruction book (indispensable in our opinion) called Turn
Concrete Into Gold is still available for the nominal
cost of $10. And with the advantage of the Internet, we're
now able to present our entire mold catalog for you consideration.
And we make it easy to purchase online using a credit or debit
